Guidelines for using the Discussion Forums

To get the most out of the Discussion Forums please take a few minutes to read these guidelines.

There is a facilitator who visits on a regular basis but... we are all equal and we ask everyone who visit's to share their information, thoughts and perceptions. We all need to act as informal facilitators so that the discussions will flow smoothly.

If you don't know an answer to a question - but you 'know a man who can', please make every effort to get the right person in to answer a question or provide extra information.

Don't expect an immediate response. These are  'any-time, any-place' forums so people can add to the discussion 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. The idea is to keep coming back to see who has responded to you and what else is new.

If you read an entry that you want to respond to (an answer, comment or query) simply click on the Reply link in the bottom right-hand corner of each entry. . A new response box will open for you and  you write your comment here. When you are happy with what you have written scroll down the screen and click on the Post to Forum button.

You will notice that when you are writing a reply you have a number of functions you can use to make your response easier to read.  For example, clicking on this icon will allow you to select a smilie face to add to your message, will allow you to change font colour and will allow you to highlight a word or phrase.  Experiment and give extra a little 'extra' with each message.

It is better to write 'little and often' than to write one long entry in the discussion forum.. People don't always like to scroll down an on-line document so try and keep entries to less than 2 / 3 paragraphs in general.

(Oppps - I hope you scrolled down far enough to read this !

If you add an entry to a discussion you can select to have any replies forwarded to your email.  This alerts you to responses so you don't miss anything.  In addition, each time you enter the site you will be told what entries are new and these 'alerts' can be found in the right-hand column.  This way you can keep up-to-date will those discussions you are particularly interested in.

Please remember - anything you write in a Discussion Forum can be read by anyone who has access to the Forum - so please be careful what you say!

Please remember to be polite at all times. If you think some-one has been offensive or insulting or has said something that has made you angry please

      • make sure you have not misread the entry (it is easy to do)
      • create a response asking for clarification
      • think before posting a response - it takes a minute to slam in a response - but it will be visible to all for some time to come!!!

The Discussion Forums are monitored and moderated by Action for Inclusion Associates. and any offensive or inappropriate postings will be deleted.  Users may be banned for the site.

Email us if you have any private comments or concerns.

We hope you enjoy visiting - little and often
