Setting up an internet radio station may require licensing in addition to hardware and software. To broadcast copyright music to outside school you will require three licences, of which you already have two, purchased on your behalf by BCC. Below are details for the third.

The MCPS-PRS Alliance represents UK music publishers, writers and composers and administers two separate rights on their behalf - the mechanical right and the performing right.

The MCPS-PRS Limited Online Exploitation Licence (LOEL) covers a variety of small-scale online services. It is available for companies and individuals providing music to the UK public, whose gross revenue from the service is less than £6,250 per year.

If you have any further questions about the Limited Online Exploitation Licence or any other aspect of music licensing, please feel free to contact one of the Advisors on the Broadcast and Online Licensing team of the MCPS-PRS Alliance on 020 7306 4395.
