How can I use NetMeeting to connect into a conference?
You can use NetMeeting to connect to conferences hosted on our MCU. To set up NetMeeting go to Start>Run and type conf.exe to configure NetMeeting which will also put an icon on your desktop.
To connect to the MCU do this:
- Start NetMeeting
- Enter the IP address of the MCU (10.120.224.29 from inside the BGfL) into the text box at the top of the window.
- Click the phone icon next to the text box to connect to the MCU's auto-attendant (you should see a menu and hear a voice asking you to enter the number of the conference followed by the "pound" key).
- Press CTRL and D together to open the dial pad.
- Using the mouse click the number of the conference room you wish to enter and then the #.
- Press CTRL and D together to close the dial pad.
Alernatively you can set up NetMeeting to always connect to the MCU and allow you to just enter the conference number you wish to enter in the text box by doing this:
- In NetMeeting, select the Tools > Options > Advanced Calling button.
- In
the 'Gateway settings' section at the bottom of the Advanced Calling
Options window , select the ‘Use a gateway ….’ check box, and enter the
IP address of your MCU in the Gateway text field (10.120.224.29 from inside the BGfL).
- Click OK and return to the main Netmeeting window.
- Enter the numeric ID of the conference in the call number field, dial up and you will be connected directly to the conference.
If you wish to be able to connect from outside the BGfL please contact the Link2 ICT servicedesk for details of how to do this
