Space Days
mars.jpgPupils spend two days at Park View City Learning Centre. On the first day (in groups) pupils will create (and staff!) their own Space airline and  on the second day they will run a simulation in space dealing with the challenges of “space” life.
This is a dynamic and challenging session which requires teamwork and sound scientific skills.

Day One: In groups pupils will undergo a series of physical and intellectual tests to determine who will be the astronauts and who the ground staff. Pupils will then prepare for their mission. They will design (and hopefully launch!) a craft and unique brand, a viable business plan whilst always understanding the complexities of life in space.

Between Space Days: Pupils will need to communicate to each other via email and via a forum and (occasional) chatroom. Important information will be posted on the internet which will aid them in the second session.

Day Two: The groups are further divided—those in space and those on the ground. They must carry out a series of scientific tests and studies whilst communicating with ground control. If an emergency should strike (and it will!) groups will need to use all the knowledge they have gained and their communication skills to land back safely! To finish, the groups will script and film an official press conference.

Throughout the mission they will be guided by Commander Vincent Davy:
