ROC Aventus - Apeldoorn, Holland
ROC Aventus is located in Apeldoorn, which is the 10th largest town in the Netherlands, with 150,000 inhabitants. Apeldoorn is approximately 60 miles east of Amsterdam. Aventus is a vocational college catering for students from age 16 and upwards, teaching subjects such as retail management, administration and leisure and tourism. The school has recently undergone a massive rebuilding programme, which saw the school move to a new site in May 2007.

Berufskolleg Barmen Europe School - Wuppertal, Germany
Berufskolleg Barmen is located in Wuppertal which is part of the North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) area of Germany. NRW is the westernmost and in terms of economic output the largest Federal State of Germany. Wuppertal has a population of approximately 365,000 inhabitants. The city is a major industrial centre including industries such as textiles, chemicals and medicine. It is also famous for being the city where the painkiller Asprin was invented! The school is a vocational one, catering for students age 16 and upwards. Typically students study here for 3 days a week, with the remaining 2 days working at a job placement. Subjects include logistics, Insurance, Finance and the Travel industry.

Lycee Saint Paul – Lens, France
Lycee Saint Paul is located in Lens, a commune in Northern France. Lens is an industrial city and mining centre and has a long history of coal mining in the area. More famously you may know Lens for their football team Racing Club Lens, who compete in the Champions League. Lens will also be the home of the first Louvre satellite building to be located outside Paris, which is due to open its doors in 2010. Lyceel Saint Paul is a private, Catholic high school, with students ranging from 11-18 years of age. Some of the students live at the school in boarding residences. The school teaches all general subjects as well as some vocational and technical subjects.

The António Sérgio Secondary School is located in the City of Gaia. The city is located in the Porto district of Portugal, just south of Porto city on the river Douro. Gaia has a population of approximately 289,000 inhabitants. The region of Porto is well known for its caves where the world famous Port wine is stored and aged. These caves are the areas main tourist attraction. The school itself caters for students between ages 11 and 18. As well as the general curriculum the school teaches many specialists technical subjects such as computer science, technical drawing and electronics.

Technical School – Pravets, Bulgaria
The Technical School is located in the small town of Pravets in central western Bulgaria. Pravets is approximately 60 km outside the capital city, Sofia. The town has a population of only 4,500 people and is surrounded by mountains. The school is affiliated with the Technical University of Sofia and specialises in computer technologies. The school prepares students to study at the university in the future and allows for direct admission to its top students. The school has approximately 550 students between ages 14 and 18. Over 65% of the students live at the school in hostels because many of them travel hundreds of miles to study at the school. Students generally only get to see their families during the holidays.

Bronnoysund Videregaende School - Bronnoysund, Norway
Bronnoysund is a town in Nordland County, Norway. The town has approximately 5,000 inhabitants and it is the administrative and commercial centre of the municipality of Bronnoy. The school has about 450 pupils between the ages of 12 and 18. The school teaches a general studies curriculum as well as vocational subjects. Vocational subjects include agriculture, fishing and forestry, restaurant and food processing, service and transport. The school has excellent ICT facilities, and most resources needed for lessons are online via the ‘It’s Learning’ platform.

Solihull College, Solihull, UK
Solihull college recruits learners from a range of wards within Birmingham and Solihull. The main Blossomfield Campus is set in the heart of Solihull only a short walk from the town centre and Touchwood Shopping Centre. The college is approximately 8 miles from Birmingham City Centre. The college has about 4700 students from age 16 and upwards and provides courses in both further and higher education. The college is currently celebrating an excellent OFSTED report which praised many aspects of its performance, from student achievement rates and exam results to the high standard of teaching and support.
