Recycool Print E-mail

recycool.gifDo you use printer ink or toner cartridges at home or work?
Do you have old mobile phones which are no longer used?
Then we need your help!

The school has signed up to the leading recycling programme Recycool, a scheme that will help boost school funds and divert products from landfill.  Every time you donate a cartridge or old mobile phone to us for the Recycool programme, the school will receive a cash donation.

It’s simple to start recycling.  Just bring your empty ink cartridges and used mobile phones to school and deposit them in one of the collection boxes, either in Resources or in ICT Room 109.  Alternatively if you have your own business or you work for a company that would like to donate their used cartridges to the school, then you can register as one of our official supporters and the cartridges can be collected directly from your offices, at no expense to you.  For more information about this service please visit the Recycool website at www.recycool.org  or contact Mr Wigley at the school at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

As well as raising cash for school through the Recycool scheme we have also joined forces with Globalglobaltrees.gif Trees,  a UK charity dedicated to helping the environment by planting trees and reducing the world’s carbon footprint.  Every time the school arranges a collection of old mobile phones and used cartridges, Recycool and Global Trees will plant a tree to help combat the damage being done to the world’s environment.

Our current project with Global Trees will be helping the vulnerable region of Tonal Sap in Cambodia. Planting trees will bring a huge number of benefits to the region, protecting the forest and its inhabitants from the effects of deforestation.  It will also bring long term economical benefits to the region and surrounding area.

Together we can make a real difference to the people in Tonal Sap, Cambodia and the environment simply by recycling mobile phones and inkjet printer cartridges.

This is just part of our effort to becoming an Eco-friendly school.  We’ll soon be launching a new paper recycling scheme too.  For more information check out our website at www.stedcamp.bham.sch.uk
