Physical Education Department Print E-mail

The P.E department aims to develop students through a wide curriculum of activities. This is aided by having some of the best sporting facilities in Birmingham . These include a gymnasium, sports hall, and fitness room.

Key Stage 3 (years 7 - 9)

At Key stage 3 pupils study for 2 hours per week. We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum through various activity areas such as Games, Gymnastics, Swimming, Fitness, Athletics and Outdoor Education.

Key Stage 4 (years 10 - 11)

The key stage 4 curriculum offers core P.E of 2 hours per week following a range of new activities such as Trampolining, Aerobics, and the use of the Fitness room.

Key stage 4 also offers GCSE and BTEC P.E courses. This involves both theory and practical elements.

A Level (AS and A2)

Lessons consist of practical and theory based units. Theory content incorporates Social basis of sport, History, Physiology and Psychological aspects of Physical Education.

Extra Curricular

Activities include Football, Rugby , Netball, Trampolining, Basketball, Unihoc, Cricket, Rounders, Badminton and Sailing.
