School Governors Print E-mail

School Governors’ Role:-
School Governors have legal duties, powers and responsibilities. They are like a Board of Directors and meet regularly throughout the year, making decisions about how the school is run.

Governors are appointed to help:
  • decide what is taught;
  • set standards of behaviour;
  • interview and select staff;
  • decide how the school budget is spent.
  •

    School Governors comprise:

  • priests from local parishes;
  • parents;
  • community representatives;
  • staff at the school.
  • Parent Governors:
  • have a child in school;
  • are elected by parents of the school;
  • serve, as do other Governors, for four years.
  •

    All initial correspondence with the governors should be made to Mrs S. Mountford, Clerk to the Governors at the school.
