All pupils are to be encouraged to gain a FULL CAMPION CERTIFICATE covering the areas of:
ATTENDANCE
PUNCTUALITY
BEHAVIOUR
UNIFORM
ACHIEVEMENT
However, pupils can gain certification for the individual criteria for Campion Certificate. eg. a pupil can receive a certificate stating that they have achieved the necessary standards in Behaviour, Progress and Uniform although they may have failed in Attendance and Punctuality.
A review of the Campion Certificate will be made towards the end of each term and parents will be informed.
The aim of the Campion Certificate continues to be to raise pupil expectations and to encourage high standards of achievement, behaviour, attendance, punctuality and appearance. The aim of two types of certification is to widen the number of pupils able to keep the standards high in all criteria.
The Process
Certificates will be individually produced to allow a ‘part’ or full certificate.
Attendance & Punctuality
using CMIS data. The 90% level being the minimum target figure.
Behaviour
from ‘event logs’ on e-portal and knowledge of Head of Year. This means that ‘event logs’ needs to be accurate. These should include completion for persistent nuisance or worse at break and lunch times.
Uniform
This will be assessed by comments on report, record in planner and knowledge of form tutor.
Achievement
There will be termly sheets to comment on effort, homework, achievement. The end of Autumn term sheet will be used for Campion Certificate and the end of Year report for the final decision.
The pass/fail display will be done only once during the year at Christmas to allow both individual pupils and parents who will be informed by letter of areas of weakness. This means that the information should be very accurate.
